A Match Made In Heaven

It was a slow Saturday at the shelter when receptionist Wendy answered the phone. The woman on the other line explained she had been out all day desperately looking for a dog to adopt, but not just any dog. Carole and Ray Beierle have owned Dachshunds for the last 13 years. Their dog recently passed and it has been very hard on them. The Beierle's even have their backyard turned into a custom playground for Doxie's, complete with miniature bridges. They had been searching high and low for a new Dachshund to make their family whole again. They checked all of the local pet shops and were on their way back out of town, ready to accept defeat when Carole called the shelter as a last resort. She explained to Wendy that she had prayed all the way home that they would find the right dog. It turned out we had a female, red haired dachshund, precisely what the Beierle's were looking for. Carole immediately broke down into tears as she learned her prayer had been answered. The Beierle's are proud new owners of Katie, the Dachshund. Every day somebody's perfect match is waiting for them at a local animal shelter or rescue group. As put by one of our adopters, "I rescued him, but he is the one who truly rescued me". Some things are just meant to be.
